Day Fourteen

I slept a lot today. Felt a bit alone and tired. I just noticed today my hair is now coming out at the radiation site.

our friends, Phil and Elisa

Despite being surrounded by many people that love and support me, visit me daily....weekly, and have made sacrifice of their own lives to focus on me, I have felt a sense of walking it out on my own. I think it's a normal feeling to have during this sort of thing. Many of you know it. No one else can do the thing but me. I have to do the treatment, take the all the medication and deal with the unknown.

our friends Mike and Kathy

But I am hopeful because tomorrow is the half way mark. Each day is one day closer to the end of radiation. And I am not alone.

Psalm 23

"The LORD is my shepherd,
I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows.
Surely goodness and loving kindness will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever."

Yes, how true, you are not alone. I see how you are surrounded by loving family and friends. I have shared your journey with my friends and I know you are in their prayers too.

Yes, Tracey, here, on this earth, despite the people who love, surround and support you, you walk this road alone. As much as we want to share this burden with you and even lift it from you, we can only do so much. But we are here and we love you. But in heaven, where you sit in Christ at the right hand of the Father, Christ who is our high priest who identifies fully with our human condition knows just what your losses feel like because He shares them. And the Holy Spirit who knows your needs groans to the Father, interceding on your behalf. And the Father will meet all your needs so You are not alone, no matter how much it feels that way sometimes.
